Mayor Wasowicz and the board members would like to thank all the residents that were involved in bringing the new sign to life and the residents that were there to take part in the unveiling ceremony and celebration. We now have a center piece in the village that we can be proud of. Passers by will now see a brighter professional image of the village. The sign still needs some finishing touches to be complete: lighting, lettering holder, brick base landscaping and eventually a digital scroll display.
As Mayor Wasowicz stated, "This is a sign of the new positive changes in the village"

2007 Justice Ethnic Fest & Auto Show

2007 Justice Ethnic Fest in review

Justice held its 1st Annual Ethnic Fest this past weekend, August 18th & 19th.
Despite the weather residents still came out to enjoy ethnic foods, dance groups and musical acts.
Protected from the weather in the huge circus style tent the fest attendees enjoyed the Weber School of Irish dance, the Polish Highlanders music and dance groups.
The crowds of people enjoyed different bands on both days which included: The Ampol Aires polka band, Timings Everything and The Usual Dose rock and roll bands, and Caliente with their Santana style of Latin music, all of which were crowd pleasers.
In the separate food tent, that was connected by a covered walkway, was a wide array of Ethnic foods and good old American favorites. Included were: Arturos Authentic Mexican restaurant of Bridgeview, A & R Perogis of Bridgeview, Grand Dukes of Summit, Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church of Justice, Lindy’s Chili of Bridgeview, China Express, It’s a Sweet & Poppin Time, Smokin Joe’s, Chicago Classics and the Justice Park District provided roasted sweet corn and nachos with cheese.
On Saturday, over 100 cars participated in the 11th Annual Auto Show. It was rain shortened, but none the less a success. Thanks to all of the car enthusiasts that entered their cars.
The Justice Police Department had a demonstration of their canine patrol and the abilities in which they assist the police department in different situations.
There were 27 different crafters on display which residents could browse through.
The rain put a damper on other scheduled events but all in all the residents enjoyed themselves.
Mayor Wasowicz, the Board of Trustees and the Village Clerk wish to thank all that came out. A special thanks to our sponsors, the food vendors, crafters that took part, the Justice Park District, Justice Public Works Department, Justice Police Department, ESDA for all their fine work and especially the many volunteers that helped this event become successful.
The Fest Committee had less than 8 weeks to put this together with very little funds. Through many hours of hard work by volunteers and the funding by sponsors Mayor Wasowicz, the Trustees and the Clerk are very pleased with the outcome.
They look forward to next year’s event being bigger, better and 3 days.
