Village Clerk, Kathleen M. Svoboda
Kathleen Svoboda has been our own Village Clerk since being elected in 2001. Her public service experience originated with an appointment to the Zoning & Planning Commission and two terms as an elected trustee for the Village of Justice.
As clerk, Kathy's talents and experiences have benefitted the residents she serves. She instituted Passport Acceptance Services, providing a convenient way to obtain or renew passports. She negotiated for and purchased government operating software, utility billing and vehicle tag software to streamline office operations.
Kathy is a leader in her field having served as an officer for the Southwest Suburban Municipal Clerks Association for many years. She continues to attend training for municipal clerks at the University of Illinois in Springfield on a regular basis.
In addition to her position as Clerk, Kathy also serves as the HR Coordinator for the Village handling worker's comp claims and coordinating employee benefits. She administers all property and casualty loss claims. She is the FOIA Officer, answering Freedom of Information Act requests in compliance with State Statue. Kathy also serves as our TIF Administrator ensuring continued compliance with State law and overseeing the day to day operations of our three active TIF Districts.
Kathy is in the office full-time and is readily available to assist residents, businesses and visitors with their needs.
